Pride and Obi-Wan

The word that keeps coming to me, both last night and this morning, is "pride." I am so proud that the United States - young voters in particular - elected a president who is intelligent, introspective, and articulate. The U.S. opted for hope and change over fear and status quo. I am also proud to say that I feel that a good man won last night, but also that a good man lost last night. In my view, the "biggest loser" in this race was the Repulican's Party use of Rovian politics. I am proud, and hopeful, that with the election of Barack Obama, that the world will begin to see us through different eyes.

I could not close this blog this morning without mentioning CNN's use of holographic images last night. What was up with that (see video below)? I kept expecting the reporter to say to Wolf Blitzer, "help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope." I guess last night really was filled with firsts.
