After seeing this photo on Jake Tapper's "Political Punch" website, I have decided that the theme for today should be "how low can you go?" This original image is from a company called, "Wiggles Dog Wigs." One of their latest items is a Gov. Sarah Palin pet wig for Halloween. But alas, this is not the only "low" that is rearing it's ugly puppy head this first Monday in October. There are quite a number of other lows out there. I will list several of these highlights - or lowlights, I guess:
- The dow recovered after plummeting about 800 points today. It finally closed - down about 344 points.
- Shares in HBOS, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Lloyds TSB and HSBC all registered sharp falls.
- McCain's team - including Sarah Palin - did their best to reconnect Obama with Reverend Wright and William Ayers. Bill Ayers is known for the violent nature of his activism in the 1960s and 1970s.
- Obama's team fired back with McCain's connection to the Keating Five Scandal. The Keating Five were five US senators accused of corruption in 1989. One of these senators involved was John McCain.
- And of course, what is the litmus test for how low things are going? No - not Nancy Grace - but The View. Here is a little sampling of their thoughts on the poltical dog poop hitting the fan (see below):
