The media was abuzz. Spectators actually had their faces up against the White House fence trying to sneak a peek at history in the making. I can't take credit for my blog title. The kudos for the comparison of this historic event to a "sort of Flintstones meets the Jetsons moment," was courtesy of Jack Cafferty of CNN. Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report is already doing his "fly on the wall" act by posting statements that President Bush was not happy regarding how much of his conversation with Obama made its way into the news. Drudge posted this comment by a White House staff:
"Senator Obama may not be familiar with a long-standing tradition of presidents holding their private conversations, private," a senior adviser explained to the DRUDGE REPORT."
Something that I did not know, or at least remember, is that the Jetsons actually did have an opportunity to meet the Flintsones in a made for TV special from the 1987. I am including a video advertisement below. Like the Obamas visit with the current President and First Lady, the contrasts were quite striking. My only trouble with Jack Cafferty's comparison of the two presidential families, is that somehow I see Joe Biden more as Barney Rubble.
