They're back.....with new music

They're back, their here - it's something like that. Who am I referring to? Well, the GOP of course. At least that is what they claim. More specifically, that is what Minority Whip, Eric Cantor is saying. And he is saying it not with country music - but with late 70s early 80s, big hair, spandex pants, rock. Here is the video clip with Aerosmith providing the music (Back in the Saddle is the song):

As the Huffington Post indicated, the GOP was unable to "stop a stimulus bill that it deemed as wasteful and liberal," so it is "taking solace in the unity of its opposition." Wow, the GOP stubbornly resisting any change, even when their 8-year plan did not seem helpful. To me it feels less like "back in the saddle" and more like they never got off the horse. Well, where ever Eric Cantor goes with this (possibly a White House run in 2012?), I find the music choice interesting. It seems like, out with country music and in with 80s rock. Cantor was actually one of the choices mentioned as a VP candidate with McCain, before Palin came into the picture. Here is a brief clip of Eric Cantor discussing the stimulus bill in the Senate:

So, I guess even if the music has changed, I am not sure if the approach has been revised. We shall see in a couple of years from now. As we know, music was a big force in getting President Obama's name out there when he was campaigning. Just remember the "Yes We Can" video with Will.i.am. What worries me, is if the public expects President Obama to pull off a quick turn-around of the country, particularly in terms of the economy. There is no quick fix to what we are in the midst of now; but, we are not known for our patience. Just as a side note, I wanted to include some musical selections of prior Republican calls to battle:
